The Inaugural Speculative Rip of the Week

This is almost too good to be true. Through some mysterious act of fortune, Paul Scholes's testimonial match decided to occur on the same day as the launch of 3MW. Scholes retired this past spring after a legendary career, prompting players from around Europe to laud him as one of the greatest midfielders ever.

The diminutive Ginger Prince is best known for 2 things: spraying 50+ yard airborne passes that flutter to the feet of teammates, and summoning Heaven's thunder with his mythic long distance strikes. Judging by the post title, this will be the latter:

Couldn't imagine a more Scholesian effort. After a near McDowell touch, the midfield maestro lets fly with a trademark rifle from distance, leaving Brad Friedel grasping at air. The perfect end to a legendary career, and the perfect entry for the Inaugural Speculative Rip of the Week. We'll miss ya, Scholesy.

PS: Those new Nike T90 Seitiros have a sweet little dip to them.
